Mrs. Ethel (Steele) Allen, 77,
sister of Mrs. Elizabeth McGinnis of Lafayette died Tuesday in an Indianapolis
hospital soon after suffering a heart attack. Mrs. Allen was born in Odell of a
pioneer family and was reared in Lafayette. She taught in Lafayette Business
College and was married in 1908 to Paul Allen of Greencastle. The couple had
lived at Indianapolis many years. Both entered a nursing home there two months
ago, and Mrs. Allen was helping care for her husband. Surviving with the
husband and sister are two sons, Charles of Long Beach, Calif and Robert of
Flint, Mich. Services will be held at Indianapolis with interment at
Greencastle. - kbz
